Every song begins with a spark—a feeling, a vision, a sound you can almost hear before it exists.
For RMD, that spark became “41 67,” our debut single and a milestone in our journey as artists.
This isn’t just a song.
It’s a reflection of self-respect, collaboration, and the courage to trust inspiration when it arrives.
Here’s how we brought 41 67 from a raw idea to a finished track ready to share with the world.
Starting with a Vision

Every creation needs a north star.
When we first sat down to talk about making our debut single, I knew one thing for sure:
I wanted an R&B/Ballad vibe—something smooth but grounded, soulful yet conversational.
The goal wasn’t just to write a catchy tune.
We wanted a song that feels like a real conversation—the kind of late-night talk you have with someone who sees through the games and finally chooses themselves.
To build that foundation, I started with chord patterns and a rough framework.
Think of it like sketching the outline of a painting before adding the colors.
The chords would give the song its mood.
The framework would set the pace.
But the heart? That would come later.
Finding the Conversation in the Lyrics
From the start, I shared my idea with the band:
“The lyrics need to sound like you’re talking to someone.
Not preaching. Not performing.
Just a real conversation
That simple direction opened the floodgates.
Regine and Jannine immediately started bouncing ideas back and forth—snippets of lines, bits of melody, emotions that felt right.
We held a few brainstorming sessions where anything was fair game.
Some ideas clicked, some didn’t, and some came back in surprising ways after a night of reflection.
This was where the magic of teamwork really started to show.
Each member brought their own perspective, and each revision sharpened the story.
Then, almost like lightning, Jannine found the heart of the song.
Her melody and lyrics captured exactly what we’d been chasing:
a message about self-respect, about walking away from people who manipulate your emotions and reclaiming your own power.

41 67 is written by Jannine—her words and melody gave life to the story we wanted to tell.
Her ability to translate emotion into lyrics made the song’s message shine.
The Secret Behind the Title “41 67”

Once the lyrics started to take shape, we needed a title that would capture the essence of the song—but without giving everything away.
We wanted something that felt personal, a little mysterious, and meaningful to us as a band.
That’s when I (Jerome) started playing around with numbers.
There’s something powerful about numbers—they invite curiosity and make listeners lean in.
I began counting the letters of key words and phrases in the song, looking for a pattern that felt right.
That’s where “41 67” came from.
It’s a nod to the number of letters hidden in the words that shaped the song’s message—a quiet reminder that even in music, clarity can be found in the little things.
The title became a symbol of what the song stands for:
finding meaning in places other people might overlook, and trusting that even the smallest details can tell a bigger story.
From Inspiration to Arrangement

With Jannine’s lyrics and melody in place, it was time for the rest of the band to bring the song to life.
This is where RMD’s collective creativity took over.
Every member—on guitar, bass, drums, and keys—added their own ideas and textures, building an arrangement that supported Jannine’s story without overpowering it.
We weren’t trying to show off technical skill or pack the track with flashy fills.
Instead, the focus was on finesse and simplicity—letting each part breathe and serve the conversation Jannine created.
✨ The result?
41 67 is a song written by Jannine and arranged and composed by RMD as a whole.
It’s the perfect marriage of individual inspiration and collective artistry.
Every decision came back to a single question:
Does this feel true to the conversation?
The final arrangement gave the song its heartbeat—a groove that’s smooth enough for R&B but dynamic enough to move a live crowd.
Lessons We Learned Along the Way
Creating 41 67 taught us more than we expected.
Looking back, we can break it down into three key ingredients:
1. Inspiration (50%)
Inspiration is the heartbeat of any song.
It directs the lyrics, shapes the emotion, and even guides the tempo.
Without it, music feels flat—just sound without soul.
For 41 67, inspiration was more than an idea; it was a shared understanding of what we wanted to say.
That clarity gave us confidence to cut what didn’t fit and lean into what felt right.
2. Creativity (25%)
Once inspiration strikes, creativity gives it form.
This is where chord changes, melodies, and arrangements come to life.
But creativity isn’t about complexity.
It’s about balance—knowing when to add texture and when to leave space.
In 41 67, every choice was intentional:
the way the drums echo a heartbeat, the way the guitar lines rise like a quiet declaration.
3. Emotion (25%)
Finally, emotion is the glue that holds it all together.
It’s the difference between a song you hear and a song you feel.
From Jannine’s heartfelt vocal delivery to the subtle dynamics of the rhythm section, we poured our emotions into every take.
The goal wasn’t perfection.
It was honesty.
Teamwork Is Everything

If inspiration is the spark, teamwork is the engine.
41 67 reminded us that music is a conversation—not just between singer and listener, but between bandmates.
Each of us had to listen as much as we played.
We had to respect each other’s ideas, give feedback with love, and stay focused on the bigger picture.
This process of give-and-take wasn’t always easy.
There were revisions, late-night debates, and moments where someone’s idea didn’t make the final cut.
But every challenge brought us closer to the sound we wanted.
In the end, teamwork didn’t just make the song better.
It made us better—as musicians and as a family.
Recording with Finesse and Simplicity
Recording a song is a different art from writing it.
In the studio, every note is under a microscope.
It’s tempting to overplay or overproduce, but we reminded ourselves of a key lesson:
Play it like you’ll play it live.
That meant focusing on finesse—clean strums, tight drum patterns, tasteful bass runs—while keeping things realistic for live shows.
We didn’t want a track so polished it couldn’t breathe on stage.
This approach kept the energy authentic.
It also allowed each member to inject their personal style without overshadowing Jannine’s melody and lyrics.
Why 41 67 Matters
So what does 41 67 mean to us?
Beyond the hidden numbers, it’s about choosing yourself.
It’s a reminder that you don’t have to stay in situations where your emotions are manipulated.
You can walk away.
You can reclaim your power.
You can say, “I deserve better,” and mean it.
That message isn’t just for the people in the story.
It’s for us, too.
As artists, choosing to release 41 67 as our debut single was an act of self-belief.
It says: This is who we are. This is our sound. This is our truth.
